WILL PAKATAN HARAPAN (PH) SELL US OUT?

 by e.s. shankar

Get the votes, forget the voters

5.5 Million Malaysia citizens cast their votes in favor of PH which promised us many reforms and won the 2018 GE14. Two of the key unfulfilled reforms now inexplicably form part of a slew suddenly “offered” last week by of all people, #IsNotMyPm Ismail Sabri to PH leaders!!!:

1. Maximum 2-term tenure of the prime minister, presumably 5-years each.

2. Anti-hopping laws for MP’s.

I say offered to PH leaders because, after receiving the Rakyat’s votes in 2018, there has been little or no consultation by PH to gauge what their supporters would agree with at the implementation stages. This happens all the time, all over the world. Get the votes, forget the voters!

An example of this is when in 2019, then PH Finance Minister Lim Guan Eng and “Special Adviser” at the MoF, Tony Pua, both from DAP, proposed a RM6.2 billion buy out of highway toll concessionaires, instead of, as widely expected, abolishing tolls completely. It had not escaped anyone’s attention that the Taxpayer would have to bear a premium to buy out tollcos whose concession periods would be expiring in the not too far distant future. Or that Gamuda Plc, which stood to gain RM2.36 Billion from that proposed buy out, had been appointed as Project Delivery Partner for the RM46 Billion Penang Master Transport Plan and its Undersea Tunnel roll out. Was there possibly, a  conflict of interest there?

With the fall of the PH government due to the treachery and betrayal by  Mahathir, Azmin Ali, Mahiaddin and Hamzah Zainuddin, the Rakyat are still burdened heavily with tolls. A universal principle of granting toll concessions to private companies is that it must come to an end within a reasonable period during which the concessionaires are entitled to make a fair, decent profit and return on capital employed. But, it would appear that many a tollco is raking in super profits while having been subsidized heavily by the Taxpayer with huge government grants and cheap interest at the initial construction stage. Is this not highway robbery? Are cronies getting away with two or even three bites at the cherry?

There are other equally important commitments for the Opposition, if not of greater priority. These fall in the realms of justice, human rights and truth and reconciliation. We have lived with unlimited terms for prime ministers and hopping MP’s for 64 years. So, another 22 months with those anomalies will not crush us.

But, what will destroy PH is straying away from fundamental principles. We do not support or negotiate with terrorists. Likewise with our sworn political foes of 64 years, no matter how tempting the offer may be from Ketuanist, Muafakat leaders.

#IsNotMyPm Needs PH more than PH Needs Him

#IsNotMyPm is now caught between a rock and a hard place. At the moment, he has 114 MP’s supporting his durian runtuh PM-ship. If 5 MP’s defect, his government will crash. So, his offer of “reforms” is not genuine, not from the heart. He is hoping that PH, in its desperation, will naively fall into his crooked net. But, he is trapped like a cornered rat. With PH’s 88 seats and a Confidence and Supply Agreement (CSA) with them, he can deflect any defections including those from UMNO’s 11 Klepto/Court Cluster MPs. #IsNotMyPm hold on power is very fragile indeed.

He needs PH more than PH needs him, especially for the ‘Vote of Confidence’ (VoC) due to take place with the re-convening of Parliament scheduled for 6 September. He needs an ace up his sleeve if the Kleptos do not get their bargain and disgruntled UMNO, Bersatu and GPS Sarawak MP’s who did not get plum Cabinet and Deputy Ministers’ posts or other sinecure jobs, pull the plug!

Why PH Should Not Support #IsNotMyPm

I say we should not support or negotiate particularly with this UMNO/PN cabal, because:

1. The government under #IsNotMyPm comprises virtually the same bunch who betrayed and backstabbed PH in February 2020.

2. #IsNotMyPm’s offer for reforms is the same as that offered by Mahiaddin shortly before he resigned on 16 August. So, if PH rejected that offer, how is it more acceptable now? What convoluted logic is this?

3. It is not a certainty that #IsNotMyPm will actually be able to deliver reforms any time soon. Those Constitutional amendments requiring 2/3 majority and the consent of the Rulers will be problematical. Anti-hopping law issues for MP's will particularly be very, very difficult to navigate, given their Constitutional rights of free association. UMNO, PAS and Bersatu MP's might oppose these changes.

4. Then, who’s to say that #IsNotMyPm will not, after winning the VOC with PH’s misguided help, deliberately drag reforms and delay it until it’s too late? If you had to bet all your money on it, would you say #IsNotMyPm’s word is his bond or that he cannot be trusted? So, these reforms may take so long that we might as well wait for GE15.

5. Playing on our emotions with “Saving Lives” is pure horse manure. Ever since Emergency was declared on 12 January 2021 by Mahiaddin and overwhelmingly supported by Ismail Sabri and UMNO too, Covid19 infections have gone up by >700% and deaths, >1,500 %!!! There was massive failure to contain Covid19 and only now they want to talk about “Saving Lives”? What disgraceful hypocrisy! It’s obvious that the infections have spread to the communities. What will save us is 100% vaccination of the population including foreign workers, continuous testing, strict SOP compliance with social distancing, masking up, washing hands etc., and reinforcing that message every hour on on the hour on national TV, radio, social media and the online MSM, If we put such a plan into operation by declaring a limited Emergency to draft in enforcement by the armed forces and reservists, we can open up all sectors of the economy the following week. MP’s, leaders and VIP’s who flout the rules should be jailed without mercy.

6. Lastly, why would any sane person support a government which over the last 20 years has not done enough  to bring to justice:

a. Indira Gandhi’s husband who kidnapped her daughter when she was a mere infant baby?

b. The persons who gave the orders to murder Altantuya and Hussain Najadi?

c. Those responsible for the deaths of Teoh Beng Hock and Ahmad Sarbani who had gone voluntarily to assist the MACC in their investigations?

d. The persons who abducted Pastor Raymond Koh, Amri, Joshua Hilmi and his wife Ruth Sitepu now all presumed murdered because no one has made any ransom demands?

e. The more than 2,000 deaths in custody that have occurred over the last 20-odd years?

f. Jho Low who is responsible together with Najib, for fraud and the billions of ringgit missing from 1MDB. Or, Nik Feisal the fugitive MD of SRC which has lost RM4 Billion, also due to internal fraud?

g. Zakir Naik and Zamri Vinod Kalimuthu for allegedly insulting non-Islamic faiths?

h. Two ex-CJ's as recommended for prosecution by the 2009 ‘RCI into the Lingam Video Clip’ as well as an ex-PM, an ex-Minister and a corporate tycoon, relating to the fixing of judicial appointments?

i. Those responsible for the 1990’s RM31 billion Bank Negara Malaysia forex scandal as revealed by the 2017 RCI?

How could the leaders of PH say to us, our children and grandchildren that they shook hands with those who covered up the above crimes and even slept in the same bed?

What will PH gain from supporting #IsNotMyPm?

Nothing. If PH betrays us, all it will achieve is allow #IsNotMyPM and UMNO to regroup, prosper and get stronger by the time GE15 arrives, at our expense. He will show his gratitude to PH by dumping them like a piece of turd come the next GE.

PH will be better off preparing for GE15 and let #IsNotMyPm survive as best as he can. He and his Muafakat government already indicated in February 2020 that they will sideline us, withdraw representation and top jobs in the public sector for at least 40% of the Rakyat and ditch our interests. Then there is the question mark hanging over #IsNotMyPM's coalition partner, PAS, congratulating and supporting the Taliban in Afghanistan!

Are PH leaders masochists and sadists?

WHO WILL BELL THE CAT? WHO WILL TELL ANWAR IBRAHIM, KIT SIANG AND GUAN ENG THAT THEIR TIME IS UP?

by e.s. shankar

Yesterday I was clever, so I wanted to change the world. Today I am wiser, so I am changing myself. Rumi 1207-1273.

It’s an expression from Aesop’s fables. Indeed, who will bell the cat? This is a question that’s on the mind of millions of Malaysians today. Who will dare tell Parti Keadilan Rakyat’s (PKR) Anwar Ibrahim (AI) and Democratic Action Party’s (DAP) Lim Kit Siang (LKS) and Lim Guan Eng (LGE) that their time is up? That it is time for them to hand over the reins of the leadership of their parties and that of the Pakatan Harapan (PH) coalition, to others?

We are not asking them to leave their parties but to make way for younger, new leaders at the very top of PKR, DAP and PH. We still need them to win their state and parliamentary seats and guide the youth to defeat UMNO/PN. Their immense experience and political savvy is still necessary to mentor a new prime minister and their team. It’s not that we wish to throw them under the bus just like that or that we are not grateful to them.

Without Anwar’s ‘Reformasi’ protest initiative which began in 1998, no one else would have stood up to challenge Mahathir’s venomous and deadly 22-year quasi-dictatorship and give the Rakyat back their self-respect. No one else could have forged an alliance between PKR and DAP that saw them snatch Selangor and Penang from the evil clutches of UMNO/BN in 2008. They set the stage for the eventual victory of PH in the 2018 general elections. The beast was finally slain!

Who was it who fearlessly challenged in 1987 the untrustworthy, sneaky and Ketuanist Mahathir all the way to the Federal Court over the then RM800 million North-South Toll Highway Project awarded without open tender to suspected UMNO cronies/nominees? Who was then punished vengefully by Mahathir with 2 years in jail without trial at Kamunting Prison, under the Internal Security Act? Who courageously stood up in Parliament in 1994 and questioned Mahathir about a RM6 Billion hole in Bank Negara’s balance sheet and it turned out that Mahathir had covered-up nearly RM30 billion of forex losses? None other than Lim Kit Siang, that’s who! Mahathir had set the country firmly on the road to government approved endemic and systemic corruption which became the culture within the ruling party.

Who was jailed for 12 months in 1998 under the Sedition Act and the Printing Press & Publications Act for exposing statutory rape charges levelled against a chief minister, a matter of huge public interest? Lim Guan Eng.

I have been a supporter of Anwar, Kit Siang, PKR and DAP for as long as I can remember. I owe them a debt of gratitude that can never be repaid. They gave me back my self-esteem. That does not mean that I am blinded by loyalty. Far, from it. I have openly criticized them whenever they strayed off the principled path.

I defended Anwar with my blog posts where I accused Mahathir and Najib of concocting conspiracies, persecution and vendettas against him:

Anwar Ibrahim..why they were conspiracies both times:

When charged, Anwar gave the High Court the perfect alibi. The construction of the Bangsar condo in which the accuser Azizan Abu Bakar had alleged that sexual trysts took place, was not completed and certified fit for occupation until two years later! Attorney General Mohtar then confiscated all of Anwar's diaries. When he found a gap there, he "persuaded" Azizan to "remember" a new date for the charge. Instead of throwing the case out, Judge Augustine Paul incredibly allowed AG Mohtar to amend the charges to 'some day between...in 1993'. That case should not have proceeded beyond that stage as it was clear that witnesses were clearly lying through their eyeteeth and being manipulated by conspirators.

How could it not be viewed as conspiracies when the accusers met the prime ministers, in Mahathir’s case before official investigations began some 5 years after the alleged crime, and in Najib’s case, well before the alleged crime was committed? By then, Mahathir had the Chief Justice sacked and reduced the legal system to shambles, poisoned by corruption. How could Anwar remotely have had a fair trial? So, he spent nearly 20 years of his life in court and about 10 years in jail, disgracefully robbed of his freedom by his political enemies in a country that had sunk to rock bottom in human rights and justice.

So, who shall replace AI, LKS and LGE at the top and form a stunning winning team? Everyone will have their own dream team. Here’s mine for what it’s worth, a nice blend of experience, age and youth:

1. Shafie Apdal (SA, 65)) of Warisan, Sabah as Pakatan Harapan Chief and PM candidate.

2. Nurul Izzah (41) as PKR head and DPM candidate with Rafizi (44) as her deputy.

3. Yeo Bee Yin (38) as DAP head with Anthony Loke (44) as her deputy.

4. The Sarawak Chief Minister as an additional and equal Deputy Prime Minister.

PH lost the government in February 2020 due to the treachery of Mahathir. AI and LGE have reached an impasse with Sarawak and Sabah at the Federal level. There appear to be old wounds which cannot be stitched or healed. They failed to get the 18 seats from Sarawak or 17 from Sabah and lost the golden opportunity to form the new government last week. SA has requested that if AI failed, he be given the chance to get Sarawak and Sabah on PH’s side as one East Malaysian to another and lead PH as the prime ministerial candidate. He has my vote. I cannot recall the last Malay politician who said, as SA did:

We want to develop the nation, not one race or one religion. We must build all the races so that this country can move forward. We must ensure that the Budget will be used for nation-building. Not for building a race. Not for building a religion. This is the way forward for the country.

As for Nurul Izzah, she may or may not realize it, but she has that X-factor, CHARISMA. I reckon that eventually when she makes a bid for the PM post, she will take the country by storm, like a latter-day Eva Peron, Indira Gandhi or Corazon Aquino. All Malaysians will unite behind her like the manic football fans do behind Manchester United, worldwide. She has the potential to become a truly great PM.

I am going for the ladies to take control and lead, as all the men have proven to be lacking in personality, disappointing in performance, indecisive, even wimpish and making all the wrong decisions, stupidly. We need a sea change from the testosterone charged atmosphere of male domination in Malaysian politics. It is the men who have presided over a country that some have accused of being a basket case and a failed state now.

What we need are women like Nurul and Bee Yin to take us down a new, progressive path and a fantastic future. Bee Yin won our hearts and minds during her short stint between 2018-2020 as Minister of Energy, Science, Technology, Environment and Climate Change. Again, that charisma factor is there. Like Nurul, she cuts across race, religion, creed and color.

As for Rafizi, he’s made some poor decisions and taken some bad turns, led down the wrong path by the manipulation of PKR leaders. But, who hasn’t, when younger? That’s the way we learn, from mistakes, stumbling and falling. It took Abraham Lincoln 28 years of failures and setbacks to become the President, among the top 3 greatest in the US. Rafizi has more important qualities. He’s got brains, financial qualifications, numbers savvy, to go with brawns, as he fearlessly exposed the fraud at 1MDB , the RM250 million Cow Condogate fiasco and misgovernance at Tabung Haji. He’s both Finance Minister and DPM material, and one day PM.

Also, no one, including yours truly, is an angel. No one. As the saying goes, ‘let they who have not sinned, be the first to cast the stone’! What I can say about my choices are that they all pass the test of honesty and integrity. That is a heck of a lot more than I can say about the leadership of UMNO/BN and PN.

It is also time for prominent NGO leaders, particularly women, those who led Bersih and others to take the baton and make the charge for liberty, equality and fraternity. They will set the tone for a new breed of honest politician. They may not feel that they have the inclination for politics, but, every seat they win at the general election will be a nail in the coffin for the crooks, thieves, abductors and murderers. Some sacrifices are called for, i.e. national service.

So, dear Anwar Ibrahim, Lim Kit Siang and Lim Guan Eng, the nation is poised on a knife’s edge. We cannot let the backdoor men rule us for another two years. No way. That is the path to hell. If the situation were the reverse, Ismail Sabri and UMNO will not hesitate to ruthlessly sink you before you could say ‘Jack Rabbit’! They already did that in February 2020 with the Sheraton Hotel Move and last week with the ‘Klepto/Court Cluster deal. These are the same breed of UMNO politicians who put you in jail and are still hatching conspiracies against you. NO CSA, no co-operation, no nothing! How long can anyone be  suckers?

No way will PH be stronger than UMNO/PN two years from now. We need you to press that button and initiate new directions. We need you to take control TODAY. We need you to make that call today. We cannot be playing that same old broken record over and over again. We need you to let Shafie Apdal deliver. And if not Shafie Apdal for PM, then you nevertheless have to come to an agreement with him because PKR and DAP cannot unlock Sabah and Sarawak on their own. You need to offer Sabah and Sarawak carrots - autonomy within a Federal system, better share of oil profits and financial aid.

If not Shafie, Nurul, Bee Yin, Anthony Loke and Rafizi, who? If not here, where? If not today, when?

DESPERATION AND LOGICAL CLEAR THINKING DO NOT MAKE GOOD BEDFELLOWS!

 by e.s. shankar

There is a voice that does not use words. Listen! Rumi (1207-1273).

In their desperation, Anwar Ibrahim, Lim Guan Eng and some of their lieutenants too, seem to have forgotten the philosophy and broad principles behind the war to get rid from the Malaysian political landscape, UMNO, as it has been and as we know it now and PAS too.

We do not do deals, ever, with a government of thieves, looters, plunderers, fraudsters, embezzlers, money-launders, those who cover up for enforced abductions, killings and murders or their cronies and fraudtrepreneurs. We do not, ever, work with those who exploit Racial Supremacism (Ketuanism) and Religious Supremacism/Bigotry for votes. NEVER!

Can UMNO under Ismail Sabri possibly change, shed its racist and Ketuanist skin and make meaningful reforms? Do sharks fly?

If we do sit down with them, it will be to negotiate their resignation, their permanent exit from Malaysian politics, as Nelson Mandela did in 1990 with the White Supremacist Apartheid regime in South Africa, after a 30-year struggle. We need to get rid of that kind of poison, lock, stock and barrel to save Malaysia.

I mean seriously, would you teach your children that they should not steal or kill and then when faced with a personal problem, tell your children that it’s alright to get help from crooks and the Mafia executioners because you are desperate?

#IsNotMyPm wants no unity government with PH. He will use PH to strengthen his position in Parliament, continue with the same incompetency and racist policies and then dump them like a two-bit prostitute, having gained ascendancy for GE15.

UMNO is now at its weakest. It is split into 3 camps–the 11 Klepto/Court Cluster, the 27 Ismail Sabri cabal and the 15 who katakked to Bersatu. The Malay vote is split even more than it was in 2018.

Every UMNO/BN, Bersatu and PAS politician is shaking in their boots because of the Undi18 youth. Which is why for 17 months PN and the EC have been blocking registering them. The Undi18’s have neither fear of the crooks nor loyalty to race, religion, color or creed, By definition, youth is fearless. Often headstrong, but nevertheless fearless as 'Lawan'. But that is youth. The majority will vote for truth, honor, justice, integrity and the right principles.

This is the moment to finish off the crooks and thieves. The writing is on the wall. Every political party in Asia that thought it had a divine mandate to rule forever and a day, has fallen, some more than once. The bigger they were, the harder they fell. China Manchu Dynasty (268 years), India Congress (50 years), Japan LDP (28 years), Taiwan Kuomintang (KMT, 104 years), Thailand, Indonesia, Philippines, Vietnam, Cambodia, Sri Lanka, you name it.

So, when you embrace the right philosophy and principles, your enemies will fall suddenly, all at once. Dramatically. Their end will come in a flash and they won’t even realize it.

So, Anwar Ibrahim, Lim Kit Siang, Lim Guan Eng, Shafie Apdal, Mat Sabu, Tony Pua, Ong Kian Ming, others and PH, listen.

Do not get into the same bed with your enemies. Do not sleep with them. Do not break bread with them. Keep your distance. Do not volunteer your unsolicited advice and unwanted services. Do not co-operate with them. Have patience. Never give in. Never waver. NEVER. Listen!

There is a voice that does not use words. Listen! Rumi (1207-1273).

WAKE UP TONY PUA!

 by e.s.shankar

WAKE UP TONY PUA!

“Perhaps its time to start a new painting. Already got a title in mind.‘The Unbearable Lightness of Being Stupid'. Any bidders? 18/08/21. Getting kicked out of Govt in Feb2020 was bad. But playing a major starring role in returning power to UMNO? Devastating. 20/08/21.” Tony Pua.

Like many, I have been a supporter of PKR and DAP for a very, very long time and their Pakatan Harapan coalition that heroically won the 9 May 2018 general election and formed the government for 22 months between 10 May 2018-24 February 2021. But the above comments by DAP MP Tony Pua suggest that he does not know who is the Devil or PH’s implacable enemy. So too, many “analysts” and self-appointed “experts on politics.”

On 3 August 2021, 11 UMNO members labelled The Klepto/Court Cluster Group who were mainly convicted criminals or facing numerous court cases for corruption, MLA etc., withdrew their support for then PM Mahiaddin and his Perikatan Nasional coalition government. This meant that Mahiaddin had lost his thin majority in Parliament and by the Constitution, had to immediately tender his resignation to the King. He refused and defied the Constitution and King.

On 13 August 2021, in a televised address, Ex-PM Mahiaddin offered a number of “reforms” and possibly a unity government in preparation for a Vote of No Confidence (VONC) against him in Parliament, scheduled for 6 September. The offer was primarily aimed at DAP which had 42 seats in Parliament. Mahiaddin had hoped that either by DAP  abstaining or voting in his favor, he could stave off resignation and the collapse of his PN government in just 17 months. As it happens, the leadership of DAP and PH did not fall for Muhyiddin’s amateur tricks and PN fell. The “reforms” offered were:

1. Institutional reforms such as maximum 2-term tenure for future prime ministers and  Opposition MP’s to be included in Parliamentary Select Committees.

2. Anti-hopping law for MP’s.

3. Implementation of the voting rights bill which reduced the voting age to18.

4. Bribes – up to about RM3.5 million pro rata per year budget allocation for Opposition MP’s. Opposition Leader in Parliament to be given the status of a Senior Minister (not a Cabinet post).

Was this a genuine offer? Was Mahiaddin a sincere man whose word was his bond? Believable and trustable? This is what Mahiaddin had done while being Home Minister in PH and PM under PN:

1. Blocked all reforms, especially the Independent Police Complaints and Misconduct Commission (IPCMC).

2. Backstabbed PH and plotted the fall of the PH government with Mahathir, Azmin Ali and Hamzah Zainuddin in the infamous ‘Sheraton Hotel Move;.

3. Sacked Chairman Mahathir who was the founder of Bersatu (PPBM).

4. Formed PN with crooks like Najib.

5. Formed an Islamic Muafakat government which was not inclusive of non-Muslims. In one stroke, he removed all representation in government for 15 million of the Rakyat and rendered us into 2nd class citizenship with a bloated Cabinet comprising 73 Ministers and Deputy Ministers. He packed the civil service, public institutions, statutory bodies and universities with Muslims.

6. Blocked the re-opening of Parliament and a VONC against him.

7. Declared Emergency on 12 January 2021 on the pretext that it was necessary to contain the Covid19 pandemic. Up to 1 August, the number of Covid19 infections had risen by more than 700% and deaths, 1,500%!!!

All Tony Pua had to do was ask himself a couple of simple questions:

1. With no majority support and especially no 2/3 majority in Parliament, by which century did Tony (or his DAP colleague Ong Kian Ming) imagine Mahiaddin would have been able to deliver his “reforms”? 2121?

2. Having blocked a VONC and any reforms while in PH or as PM under PN for 17 months, why would Mahiaddin suddenly offer a reform agenda with bribes? For DAP or PH’s benefit?

It’s incredible that Tony Pua can be so naive, green. How could he be taken in by the snake oil salesmanship of con men and Ketuanist opportunists like Mahiaddin, who for years under UMNO, had been demonizing and plain lying that DAP was anti-Malay, anti-Bahasa Melayu, anti-Islam, anti-Royalty, pro-Communist China and a secret member of PAP, Singapore?

Wake up Tony Pua. Please recognize that both the Devil and Your Enemy for Life, are the Ketuanists from UMNO. They are the wolves in sheep’s clothing who will tear you and DAP apart in a heartbeat, drink your blood for breakfast and burn your carcass.

Here are some inspiring words from the Al Pacino character in the academy award winning 1992 movie ‘The Scent of a Woman’:

“Cradle of leadership. Well, when the bough breaks, the cradle will fall. And it has fallen here. It has fallen. Makers of men, creators of leaders, be careful what kind of leaders you’re producing here...But, I can tell you this. He won’t sell anybody out to buy his future. And that my friends, is called INTEGRITY! That’s called COURAGE! That’s the stuff leaders should be made of."

Will Tony Pua now leave DAP because he is openly in conflict with the leaders of DAP? I hope not. Malaysian politics is full of overblown egos and prima donnas. The learning curve is steep.

Please do not ask DAP or PH to sell its soul or sell anybody out.

Wake up, Tony!

ANWAR IBRAHIM SHALL BE THE NEXT PRIME MINISTER OF MALAYSIA!

 by e.s. shankar

ANWAR IBRAHIM SHALL BE THE NEXT PM OF MALAYSIA!

What you seek is seeking you. (Rumi 1207-1273).

We have all played the ‘What if I were God’ game. If I were God, who would I make the next prime minister (PM) of Malaysia and which political party shall form the next government?

In an ideal world where truth, honour and justice prevail, it is obvious that Anwar Ibrahim shall be the next PM of Malaysia. Pakatan Harapan (PH) was voted to victory at the 2018 General Elections (GE 14) with the clear understanding that Mahathir would be the interim PM who would hand over the reins of power to the PM-in-waiting, Anwar Ibrahim, within 2 years of 10 May 2018. This transition plan was communicated to the entire nation well BEFORE GE 14. It was NOT an unexpected PH decision cunningly sprung on an unsuspecting Rakyat.

That Anwar was cheated out of a well-negotiated popular deal was primarily due to the treachery of Mahathir, the betrayal by his one-time right hand man and then Minister of Economic Affairs, Azmin Ali, the plotting and scheming of then Home Minister Mahiaddin Yassin and UMNO stalwart and businessman Hamzah Zainudin. The PH government lasted 22 months, from May 2018 to February 2020. If ever there was a tale of sordid backstabbing ultra-nationalistic right-wing Malay Supremacists traitors seizing power through deceit, bribery, trickery and the backdoor, this was it. Mahiaddin replaced Mahathir as the new PM and cobbled together a coalition called Perikatan Nasional (PN) with UMNO, religious party PAS, Sarawak, Sabah and defectors from everywhere referred to locally as ‘katak’ or frogs.

But, it was more than that. Realizing that the Rakyat would not accept or support this backdoor coup, PN decided to play the dangerous religious bigot card so that Malay-Muslim outrage would not result in a nationwide revolt, like that by the French working class which stormed the Bastille prison in Paris on 14 July1789. That was the start of the French Revolution and the beginning of the end of the monarchy there. They called for Malay-Muslim unity behind the concept of Islamic consensus known as Muafakat. This meant that there would only be token representation of non-Muslims in government, public institutions, government linked companies and statutory bodies. PM Mahiaddin went on a massive bribery spree with a bloated 73-member Cabinet and planting of Malays and Muslims in well paying secure jobs and positions. This rotten, racist, divisive and evil policy has, rightfully, failed.

Those who live by the backstabbing keris, shall die by the same backstabbing keris. Mahiaddin was forced into resignation on 16 August 2021 by the withdrawal of support for his incompetent and scheming government, by 11 UMNO MP’s led by ex-PM Najib and his ex-Deputy Zahid Hamidi. They have been dubbed the Klepto/Court Cluster as they face multiple criminal charges for fraud, embezzlement, criminal breach of trust and multi-billion ringgit money-laundering. Najib was convicted in July 2020 and sentenced to 72 years prison and a whopping RM210 million fine. Zahid is facing 83 charges.

So, this is where we stand today as Parliament has been locked down due to Covid19 and the process of selecting the next PM and government falls within the scope of duties of our King, the Yang  Di-Pertuan Agong (YDPA). Ideally, the matter should be decided in Parliament by the MP’s voting in the open which can be witnessed by the entire nation as a transparent and indisputable outcome. However, that is not to be.

Regardless, Anwar/PH have on paper support from 105 MP’s, PN 104, with the Kleptos, 11, making a total of 220 seats, with two more seats vacant due to deaths.

Ex-Sabah Chief Minister Shafie Apdal has pledged to support Anwar, provided no deal is done with the Kleptos who in return for their support, want their court cases and convictions to disappear. This would of course undermine the very foundations of our courts and judicial system. It is also seriously doubtful if DAP, with 42 seats, will agree to Anwar doing any deals with the Kleptos.

Shafie has also counter-offered Anwar that if he is unable to raise his support from 105 to the minimum of 111 seats, then Anwar would support Shafie’s bid to be the next PM. Shafie may be able to increase his support by as much as 20 seats, IF Anwar/PH back him 100%. He is probably confident of swinging what would a stunning power play, with support from Sabah, and Sarawak’s 18-seats, long regarded as UMNO’s “fixed deposit”. Why? With him as PM, Sabah and Sarawak, which are countries and not mere states in the Malaysian union, will take centre-stage after being looked down upon for 58 years as poor second cousins from the boondocks, by west Malaysian Malay UMNO politicians. This is a deal that cannot be engineered by Anwar as for some reason, there is bad blood between him and the Sarawak polity.

As for PN, they are caught between the devil and the deep blue sea. The implosion of PN, the most hated government ever, in a Malaysian record 17 months, was also because ex-PM Mahiaddin refused to rescue the toxic Kleptos. So how is he going to get 7 more MP’s to defect from PH or Sabah/Sarawak except through more massive bribery which is a big risk with the anti-corruption agency breathing down his neck and the whole world watching? There is talk that UMNO’s Ismail Sabri might bid for the PM’s post with Mahiaddin taking a back seat and that he might be willing to accommodate the Kleptos. Desperation meets desperation.

But one thing is guaranteed 100%. It will be the end of whoever does a deal to save the Kleptos from spending many, many years at Bamboo River Resort. The Rakyat will throw them out at GE 15. So, should Anwar or PN or UMNO risk their permanent political death for a mere 22 months till May 2023 by when the next General Election has to be called? I think not. Bottom line, no deals with the Kleptos by Anwar/PH or we dump them. Better to lose now and fight it out at the 2023 General Elections.

So, in an ideal world, Anwar Ibrahim should already have been the PM. But, if he is unable to get to the magic 111 figure, then he should concede and gives his full support to Shafie. It would be a magnificent gesture. All of us have been there. We have had victory snatched from our hand just when we thought it was finally ours. I can sympathize and empathize with Anwar if that were to happen. I know of that dying, sinking feeling in the pit of the stomach.

But history is full of giants making enormous sacrifices for the greater good of the People. Anwar fighting back with ‘Reformasi’ against Mahathir’s and Najib’s malicious, vindictive and conspiratorial persecutions and prosecutions is the stuff of heroes and legends. We would never have seen PKR partner with DAP and Amanah and wrest Selangor and Penang from fortress UMNO in 2008 without his high octane energy, organizational skills and political savvy. Or win the popular vote in 2013 nor finally slay that beast, that monstrous ogre called UMNO, at GE 14 in 2018.

So, I hope and pray that when the debris and smoke clear up and dust settles down over the next day or two, that Anwar Ibrahim will become our next PM. If that is not possible, then Shafie Apdal. Ultimately, it will be the repayment of our debt to Anwar Ibrahim.

Truth demands it, honour demands it and universal justice demands it.

NO DEALS WITH CRIMINALLY INCOMPETENT & NEGLIGENT PM OR PN GOVERNMENT

by e.s.shankar

Refer: Muhyiddin Offers Olive Branch

This is not an olive branch that PM Mahiaddin is offering the Opposition, but a poisoned chalice or booby trap.

Article 43 (4) of The Federal Constitution of Malaysia could not be clearer:

“If the Prime Minister ceases to command the confidence of the majority of the members of the House of Representatives, then unless at his request the Yang di-Pertuan Agong dissolves Parliament, the Prime Minister shall tender the resignation of the Cabinet”.

PM Mahiaddin publicly admitted today that he does not have the majority in Parliament any more. ‘Shall’ means must and that shall be TODAY, not tomorrow, next week or next month. It is mandatory! There is therefore no longer a need for a vote of confidence in Parliament.

All that remains to be done is for Mahiaddin to meet the King at once and tender his resignation. It also means the entire cabinet and PN government would fall too. This is what Mahiaddin swore to in March 2020 -  to be loyal to the King, to uphold the Constitution and be accountable to Parliament. Now, instead of being true to his oath of office, he is doing the exact opposite i.e. defying the King and being disloyal to him, trashing the Constitution and locking down Parliament.

Once Mahiaddin tenders his resignation to the King, it is not his business to be concerned about which party has the majority to form the next government or who will be the next prime minister. It is a matter for the King to handle as he did in March 2020 when Mahiaddin and PN staged a backdoor coup with what has been dubbed as the ‘Sheraton Hotel Move’.

Mahiaddin’s offer today to the Opposition for a reforms agenda in exchange for him staying on as PM with a PN-Opposition “Unity Government” and cemented with a ‘Confidence & Supply Agreement’ so that the Opposition will not vote him or his bills out, is as dishonest and insincere as one can expect from a Ketuanist. It was Mahiaddin who in 2010 said he was ‘a Malay first’ and then in 2020 championed a Muafakat or Islamic non-inclusive administration. This is a classic bluff from a drowning zombie. It may well be that Mahiaddin’s thinking faculty has been seriously affected by prolonged cancer and that he suffers from an obsession for power and delusions of grandeur.

If Mahiaddin was genuine about reforms, why has it been offered only at the 11th hour when the noose is tightening around his neck? Why did he not suggest a Unity Government before last December when he “advised’ the King to declare an Emergency. The King then refused. Everyone now knows that it was a blatant attempt to shut down Parliament so that a vote of no confidence could not be tabled against him. But, a month later, and no one knows what convincing arguments Mahiaddin cooked up, the King agreed to the Emergency effective from 12 January 2021. Emergency expired on 1 August. Mahiaddin had agreed to reconvene Parliament on 26 July after being arm-twisted by the King only to shut it with the ridiculous excuse that there were 4 suspected cases of covid19 among Parliament staff.

Truth was, Law Minister Takiyuddin had misled Parliament that the King had approved revocation of Emergency Ordinances. In fact, the King embarrassingly revealed via an official communique that he had insisted that the ordinances be tabled before Parliament, debated and therefore, voted on. It was an unheard of resounding slap in the face of  a sitting prime minister by a King, as Takiyuddin would not have been dishonest in Parliament without his prime minister’s agreement. Parliament was hastily locked down on 29 July and has been shut since.

So, the events of today reveal Mahiaddin to be an incompetent, bumbling and power crazy prime minister. A prime minister who insults and defies the King and trashes Parliament never was, is not now and never will be, fit to lead the nation. Worse, under his administration between 12 January when Emergency came into force and today, Covid19 infections have exceeded 700% and deaths, 1,500%!!! The economy is in tatters and the people, more divided than ever before. That is criminal.

I hope that DAP MP’s Tony Pua and Ong Kian Ming were playing the devil’s advocate in saying that we should give face to Mahiaddin’s desperate bid to cling on to power. No one and I mean no one, should give the slightest support or co-operation to PM Mahiaddin or PN who fundamentally created a bloated Cabinet of 70 members and an administration that gave little representation in government, GLC’s and public institutions to non-Muslim. They backstabbed the Pakatan Harapan (PH) government in March 2020. What assurance do we have that they will not stick a knife in our backs again?

There’s no deal to be struck with Ketuanists and religious bigots. I say we insist that the Constitution be respected and mandatory procedures be followed accordingly. Let the Rule of Law win. That is the basis on which the Opposition should meet the King and petition him. If that does not go our way, they should take it to the courts. The Constitution and Parliamentary Democracy are the lifeblood of a civilized country. Blink and we shall end up with dictators, worse, a theocracy and a truly doomed and failed state.

No Deals!

KERAJAAN GAGAL! PM MAHIADDIN & PERIKATAN NASIONAL (PN) SHALL FALL IN DAYS!

 by e.s. shankar

"There is a voice that does not use words. Listen!" Rumi (1203-1273).

KERAJAAN GAGAL! PM Mahiaddin and his bloated Cabinet of 70 Ministers and Deputy Ministers in Perikatan Nasional (PN) SHALL FALL in a matter of days if not weeks.
When all is said and done, the PN government as it is now made up, MUST fall.
This is not only because they have formed a government that excludes non-Muslims. Or, mismanaged the economy and survived by offering plum and cushy jobs to coalition MP’s. They filled up many top positions in the Ministries, GLC’s, Parliament, Universities and Colleges in the public sector with Wahhabi/Salafi cronies. They have appointed tainted and crooked individuals who supported Najib and his government of thieves, has-beens and inexperienced persons as Senators and made Ministers of some. They have avoided by manipulation, a vote of no confidence in Parliament. Corruption and enforcer authoritarianism have been on the rise.
PM Mahiaddin, if he has an atom of integrity left in his body, must voluntarily resign his post TODAY. Once his resignation is accepted by the YDPA (King), the Cabinet too shall be automatically dissolved. The two main reasons why PM Mahiaddin must tender his resignation immediately are:
1. First, he undermined Parliament when he declared an Emergency on 12 January this year on the pretext that it would help the government better handle the Covid19 pandemic. No other civilized country has resorted to this cheap trickery designed to help it stay in power by disabling Parliament from carrying out a vote of no confidence, assisted by a very compliant and apparently, "radicalised", Speaker.
Second, he and his ministers lied and created confusion when they said they had the power to revoke Emergency Ordinances without the YDPA’s consent and had to be fact-checked by the YDPA himself. This is the most famous stinging and embarrassing slap in the face of a prime minister in the history of Malaysia. If this were Japan, the PM would have committed hari-kari (suicide) on that day itself. Instead, he is causing "huru-hara" (chaos)!
Third, he undermined Parliament again when he shut it down last Friday for 14 days, with the flimsy excuse that 4 cases of Covid19 had been detected. 5-year old kindergarten children are laughing. When 204 people were found infected at a Shah Alam vaccination centre last month, the DG of Health had it shut 1 day for sanitization. Who failed to have the staff and MP’s tested for Covid19 despite 21-days notice in advance of the reconvening of Parliament? Who goofed? Heads must roll.
PM Mahiaddin has forgotten, as all power crazy Ketuanist (I am Malay first Supremacist) leaders with an inferiority complex do, especially one who seized office through the backdoor and not at a general election or vote in Parliament, that in a democracy:
“...That to secure these rights, governments are instituted among men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed. That whenever any form of government becomes destructive to these ends, it is the right of the people to alter or to abolish it, and to institute new government...”. The US Declaration of Independence, 1776.
In other words, WE, THE PEOPLE, appoint the government through general elections to administer the country. Governments do not “rule” us. WE empower them. WE are their masters.
2. Secondly, and more importantly, PM Mahiaddin and his administration have failed dismally in handling the Covid19 pandemic. Numbers do not lie:
(i) Number of Covid19 INFECTIONS on 12 Jan 2021 – 141,533
Number of Covid19 INFECTIONS on 1 Aug 2021 – 1,130, 422
% increase – 699%!!!
(ii) Number of Covid19 DEATHS on 12 Jan 2021 – 559
Number of Covid19 DEATHS on 1 Aug 2021 – 9,184
% increase – 1,543%!!!
We have had enough of incompetent Ministers talking about warm water treatment for Covid19 and Spanish Fly. Or, Ministers who think the people are stupid by saying the government did not have even RM4.2 BILLION to place advance orders for Covid19 vaccines, thus losing out to Singapore, when the country has reserves of RM462 BILLION. They could have got EPF/Socso/Khazanah/PNB etc. which have over RM1 TRILLION in assets to fund vaccine purchase, given it’s a global pandemic and emergency? No? The result - vaccination roll out was delayed by a further 3 months. How much unnecessary suffering and DEATHS are that?
So, one way or another, PM Mahiaddin and the PN government, MUST FALL. A RCI must be held to establish:
1. How much money the government actually spent on the vaccine purchase and roll out. Was it RM3.5 BILLION or RM5.5 BILLION or RM8.5 BILLION and who got the no-open tender “direct-nego” contracts and at what profit margin.
2. Whether the PM, Ministers and Civil Service Chiefs were negligent in discharging their duties by playing politics or selective in enforcing the Covid19 SOP, when millions went through terrible pain and suffering and thousands died. Why were 7,000 private medical clinics and other private hospitals and dental clinics and thousand of pharmacies across the nation not co-opted into the vaccine roll out program from Day 1?
3. Were the Speaker and Deputy Speakers obstructive in Parliament and biased in their rulings to prevent a vote of no confidence and blocking legitimate motions by Opposition MP’s.
All those found guilty should be fined heavily and sentenced to a minimum 5 years in Bamboo River Resort with no time off for good behaviour or entitlement to government pension.
What can the Rakyat do while the matter is being handled by the YDPA and Rulers?
1. Support financially and otherwise and/or join a movement that's prepared to challenge the PN government's legitimacy, openly. Like everyone, I too have family and fears. But we must rise above that for the greater good of the Rakyat.
2. Open a Twitter account TODAY (it’s free) and tweet PN PM Mahiaddin, Ministers, MP’s, Speaker and top Civil Servants to resign. If 5 million people tweet them every day, they will have no choice but to step down.
3. Similarly, sign all petitions and start your own.
4. Voice your protest and anger on all social media – Facebook, Instagram, Tik Tok, blogs, whatever.
When your house is on fire, that is not the time to ask why no one in your home had bought a fire extinguisher. Or sit on the fence complaining while waiting for the fire truck which has broken down because the engineers were negligent in servicing it regularly.
Only action talks. Any kind of action! Do something pro-active. TODAY! NOW!
