Description
This is the A-Z of the 2006 murder by C4 plastic explosives of Mongolian national Altantuya who became embroiled in the Malaysian government's US$2.3 billion Scorpene Stealth Submarines procurement contract with France.
Author E.S. Shankar makes it clear that the slaying of Altantuya Shaariibuu was not an unpremeditated execution carried out by two "rogue" cops, who had no motive whatsoever to kill her. Till today, the police, attorney-general and government have refused to investigate the case to establish who gave the orders to kill Altantuya, while the high court acquitted the one person who did have such a motive, without calling for his defense.
This case represents one of the most shocking examples of government interference in the judiciary in Malaysian legal history. It bodes ill for the already tattered and torn image and reputation of those in the highest echelons of the police force, judiciary and the Executive branch of the Malaysian government.
In the book's final chapter modeled after the famous 1898 expose 'J'accuse' by Émile Zola, E.S. Shankar lays firmly the blame for a massive cover-up right at the door-step of Malaysia's prime minister Najib Tun Razak and what he has branded, as his government of thieves.

BOOK REVIEW

Murdered In Malaysia: The Altantuya Story by E.S. Shankar is a true crime tale that explores the 2006 murder of the twenty-eight-year-old Mongolian Altantuya. Who actually killed this brilliant woman and for what reason? Much has been made of the murder and questions raised with no satisfactory answers, but in this spellbinding true crime tale, the author unveils facts that have been covered up, hidden in the darkness of the corrupt nature of the government. The author offers stunning arguments and evidence that the murder of the pregnant young woman was due to the fact that she became involved in the US $1 billion acquisition of submarines from France by the Malaysian Navy and the Defense minister.
In this book, the author takes a deep, clinical look at the evil that plagues many developing countries and the role that the French government plays in fueling political tensions and chaos in many countries across the world for their political and economic interests. This is a story that talks about one of the gravest abuses of power, where the defenseless innocents are shut up with gunshots and explosives, while those who give the sinister orders walk away free.
Murdered In Malaysia: The Altantuya Story is a well-researched account of murder, a story that reads like fiction but that has many elements of truth in it. The confidence with which the author writes is indicative of the fact that he has done his homework well. It is a powerful, unmitigated chastisement of corrupt political institutions, a book that beautifully and brilliantly showcases the political and cultural landscapes of Malaysia. Readers will be enticed by the author’s storytelling skills, his confident style of writing, and the logic that comes across clearly through the writing. I couldn’t put it down.
1. Exercising democratic rights could place society in a never-ending vicious cycle of instability and insecurity.
2. We are doing the right thing if everybody is unhappy, which means you have to give up something . . . You cannot say this is my right, I must get it. Then others will say they want their rights, too.
3. Racialism is fine, but not racism. This is not spin-doctoring.

Tiger Isle or Pulipore, the corruption capital of the world that mysteriously emerged from the depths of the waters of South East Asia in 200 CE, spirals towards its tipping point in 2012.
Hundreds of billions of dollars of cost over-inflated defence and other government procurement and infrastructure development contracts, national projects “that MUST not fail, ever” and the cosy “win-win” relationships between government and fraudtrepreneur crony “corpo-rat captains of industry”, send Tiger Isle hurtling towards the precipice of third world status and bankruptcy.
Tiger Isle’s evil and despotic President Kapalin plays every card, from race to Tigerist religion to hounding his political nemesis, Maitreya, with trumped-up rape and sodomy charges, to cling on to power. Failure is not an option, as Kapalin and his ambitious and self-promoting wife, expensive Birkin handbag toting ‘Big Porka’ Natasha, are also implicated in the cover-up of the gruesome murder of Tiger Isle’s Oscar-winning actress, dynamited to bits in a secluded forest.
Now, government auditor Rekha and her seven best friends race against time and the threat of a prophecy being fulfilled to save Tiger Isle and its 30 million inhabitants from annihilation, even as Kapalin plots and embarks upon apocalyptic plans that could prove to be the harbinger of World War III.
On the horizon, Rekha, married and a mother of two, sees the looming menace and racist aims of Kapalin’s mentor, bitter ex-President Bhairav, who stirs up extremist and right-wing Tigerist sentiments to undermine Kapalin and replace him with his own son as President.
The fate of a nation hangs in the balance as Rekha prepares for battle with her famous cry of “We are all of One Race, the Human Race.”
Mixing suspense with humor and pathos, E.S. Shankar’s superbly written, original and stunning debut novel ‘TIGER ISLE – A GOVERNMENT OF THIEVES’ is a classic story of endemic corruption in South East Asia and its various frightening totalitarian and racist regimes that pose as benign multi-racial, multi-religious, multi-ethnic and multi-cultural democracies.
“A great read simply for its thrilling plot and wonderfully-imagined setting, but an even better one if you're interested in Malaysian/ South East Asian politics & history.” S.Ganesan.A.B.U.

Dona, sorry for digressing.
About the news that rm20 billion has already been paid to the chinese contractor of the ECRL, I believe that 90 peratus of the 20 bills (18 bills) has probably been diverted back to the chief klepto. This would probably mean that he has a ready war chest to pay his lawyers to defend himself on the 1mdb grand theft larceny, maybe buy off some of the PH MPs and for GE15. Effectively, the barn doors weren't closed fast enough.
That's why, I can see that he still dares to make all sorts of noises about the current PH gomen. Real thickskin.
I think PH should analyse ekjackly the amount of actual work done on the ECRL to-date and compare that against the 20 bills. I won't be surprise that actual work done is only 2 bills.

The news was that RM13 billion had been advanced by Bank of China direct to C4. There was clearly a plan by Najib to siphon money out from ECRL to plug the whole in 1MDB's balance sheet. Najib would then have claimed that all those fake "Units" and "segregated portfolio investments" which they could not produce to the auditors was actually there.
The PH govt is now aware of the ECRL con job and I ma sure they are investigating the work-in-progress, money trail and crooked C4 arrangement which means China was in with Najib on the massive fraud!
Damn najib. What happened to the money already paid. It's a lot
